Ive tried many, many unit conversion apps and this has got to take the cake. Use the free version, but its worth paying for absolutely!
Ive tried many different conversion apps (free and paid). Some had amazing graphics, images, animation. However, this app was the simplest to navigate, use and get many different conversions in a simple to read and edit list. If you want a no frills conversion app that makes unit conversions very simple without wasting time trying to find the specific units you want, I strongly suggest you get this one. Ive been using the paid version for years.
Some bad moments
The free version now has ads and the premium version closes whenever trying to reorder the now overly long list of units.
Used the free app for a long time (with no ads). Now theyve added ads in the free version and the premium version crashed during reorder. Please fix this to enable me to regain my confidence in this app. It seems to be such a simple thing so Im annoyed that they couldnt get it right and I had to pay for it.
LOVE the simple way this programme works BUT its still buggy after several recent updates.
For example, it forgets that Ive selected CNY in the currency list.
Crashes continuously on my 3GS. Impossible to reorder the categories.
As an international traveller Im in continuous need for unit conversions. Everything from currency to lengths and weights. The original Units app was fantastically simply easy and reliable.
THIS NEW VERSION (free & PREMIUM) IS A BIG STEP BACKWARDS.
First, the sheer volume of conversions added makes nearly impossible to quickly find and use the basic unit conversions. You have to scroll past 37 categories to reach temperature?!
I purchased the premium version to eliminate enable reordering (and eliminate ads) only to find the app crashes when you try to reorder your second item. How does that make it past quality control?! Just to make sure it wasnt unique to my iPad I tried it on my iPhone - the exact same application failure. Tried rebooting the devices and the exact same app failure continues. Uugh!
Lastly, they should at least reorder the most popular categories to the top (currency, weight, length, time, electrical current) to the top when you purchases the premium version.
Recommend waiting until they fix the crashing issue when trying to reorder. Without reordering the common categories to the top of the list the application is tedious to use.
Old version was much better! Too many conversions I do not need. Should have function show/hide only what I want. Not worth the $0.99 I paid. Freezes and shuts down when I try to reorder. I want a refund. I also liked the old icon.
